Sexual Perversity in Chicago

It is a play for four actors, two male and two female. The plot of the play is very simple with the interest being provided not in the events themselves, but by the way in which they are played out: Bernie and Dan are friends, Deborah and Joan are flatmates. Bernie is distinctly un-likeable (read egotistical bastard), whereas Dan is a fairly nice guy. Joan is a sarcastic, neurotic woman, whereas Deborah is also fairly nice. I use nice in the loosest possible sense of the word as no one in the play really measures up to the standard of 'nice'. Bernie hits on everyone and everything (including Joan unsuccessfully). Dan hits on Deborah and they wind up in a relationship. They move in together despite Bernie & Joan's warnings that it won't last. They split up and move out, resuming old patterns.
